Carisbrook School Olympics Day

Today the whole school went to the Edgar Centre and participate in various games organised by the year 7 & 8 students. First we had the opening ceremony and the flag parade - we represented Japan, then we rotated around different activities. After lunch we got to watch the teachers have a very physical game of netball. What a fantastic day!!

Olympic Art in Ruma Kiwi

This term we have been focusing on the London Olympics 2012. We have made different things from Big Ben, the olympic mascots Mandeville and Wenlock, the Olympic rings and this week we completed our japanese flag for sports day on Wednesday 15/08. Each class at Carisbrook School has their own country to represent. We have had a great start to Term3.

Kiwi catch up

Yaaaay IPADS

Yesterday, all the teachers at Carisbrook School were given an IPad to take home and learn how they can use them in the classroom.Today, Ruma Kiwi were allowed to explore it together. We listened to stories during brainfood and we also did some maths and spelling. We are looking forward to using the IPad in Ruma Kiwi

Yesterday, Miss Walker had her baby girl :-) Her name is Eva. She was born at 4:40am at a healthy weight of 7pound and 2ounces. We cant wait to meet her :-) A big hip hip horraayy to Miss Walker

We have been learning about what makes our community unique? We started off by learnig what makes us unique.. Unique means that you are one of a kind! We then learnt about our school community, the dunedin community and now we are looking at what makes New Zealand unique. We have had a great time exploring different areas of learning - Art, reading, writing, maths, drama, song and dance. We look forward to next terms topic....

Kiwi's own Hair-dresser

Hair-dresser Polly
Polly has been showing her many talents in the classroom. She has shown great interest in hair-dressing. She loves to do Miss Taylor's hair and even got the chance to be creative with Mrs Camerons hair.
 
Arts and Craft
Polly has also been doing Arts and Craft as her follow-up activity for reading. Look at Polly's awesome Buzzy Bee she made ALL BY HERSELF!!

Beautiful Dunedin Sunrises

We have had some beautiful sunrises this Term. Did you see the super moon? The sky has been very colourful. Here is a photo of our classroom early in the morning.

Our class pet MINI-MURTLE


In Ruma Kiwi this term we have a class pet. Her name is Mini-Murtle. She loves to run around in the classroom and tries to swim through the glass of her tank. She has sharp claws and loves to eat crackers and fish food. We have to wash our hands every time after we hold her. Come and visit her whenever you like :)

Webb Ellis Cup

In term 1, Miss Taylor, Harry and Maddox from Ruma Kiwi, Noah, Dennis and Ella were all very lucky to hold the Webb Ellis Cup
